There is an upcoming webinar jointly organized by the European Training Foundation, the International Council of Open and Distance Education (ICDE), and the UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training:
Title: Open Educational Resources in Vocational Education and Training: a leverage for inclusion and innovation
Date: 26 November 2024, 15:00 - 16:30 Central European Time (CET)
The objective of the webinar is to build the capacity of Vocational Education and Training (VET) leaders and practitioners on the use of OER, as a way to increase the innovation potential and inclusion of their educational offer. Within Higher Education, the use of OER has shown the potential to reduce accessibility barriers and at the same time to support co-creation practices, but in the vocational education and training sector the use of these approaches is still limited in most parts of the world.
During the webinar, the concept of OER will be introduced and exemplified through some successful practices of VET schools that are using OER in their daily work, followed by a discussion on how to further promote the use of such resources in this area.
Mary Gu of eCampus Ontario will present their programme ‘OER Champions for colleges in Ontario’, which has recently been published in UNESCO-UNEVOC’s promising practices database: Innovative and Promising Practices
Another presentation will cover ‘AI and OER, Open Content for Future Learning’, by Ulf Ehlers of the Dual University of Baden-Wuerttemberg.
